             Biography

I was born and raised in Brazil, of an american mother and austrian father. I started painting when I was in my early teens. I first studied painting with a host of private tutors and later at the Center for Visual Arts of Rio de Janeiro.

Rio de Janeiro is where I spent about half my life. It is an exuberant metropolis where one finds beautiful lush nature and a vibrant society very much in love with the beach culture. I still travel back regularly, and I know that my colors are influenced by these experiences.

I spend my time between my house and studio in Tampa, Florida, and whenever possible, the coastal village of Buzios, near Rio.  My art has been sold and collected internationally in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, and Brazil.

I am a member of the "Professional Association of Visual Artists"  (PAVA)  of Tampa Bay.

My style incorporates warm colors and alternating palette knife with brush work, and as a result my works tend to feature a textural look. I enjoy painting on paper as well as canvas. I work with waterbased paints only, but also add collage and mixed media components to many of my artworks.

I am mostly a painter of abstract landscapes, but I am now once again painting figuratives. These will be done against a background that will be either an abstraction, or an actual landscape, depending on the perception of the viewer.
